British UEFA & European Cup Winners' Cup Champions
The Newcastle United squad with the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969. They defeated Hungarian side Ăšjpest FC 6-2 on aggregate over two legs. The competition was held from 1955 until it came under the auspices of UEFA in 1971 and was replaced by the UEFA Cup. In the last four years of the competition it was won by Leeds United, Newcastle, Arsenal and Leeds again.
